Inspected before it's listed

How we inspect

Every used and open-box tool is charged, run and checked before it's listed, and the listing carries its own test notes. Here's what we look at.

Draft — final checklist coming soon. This list may change as we finalize it.

The checklist

What we check

Not every check applies to every tool. We do the ones that fit what's on the bench.

  • Every tool

    • Model number checked against the label
    • Serial number and date code recorded
    • Everything in the listing is there: batteries, charger, blades, case

    • Guards, safety switches and lock-offs work
    • Labels and warnings are readable
  • Cordless tools and batteries

    • Fuel gauge works
    • Battery holds its charge under load
    • No swelling, heat or damaged terminals
    • Charger lights behave normally

Plain English

What "inspected" means here

  • It's our own check, done by us before the listing goes live. It isn't a manufacturer program or an outside inspection service.
  • Each listing shows its own test notes and the date it was checked.
  • Sealed items stay sealed. New (Sealed) items aren't opened, so we don't inspect or test-run them. Opening one to test it would make it Open Box.
  • For Parts / As-Is items don't fully work or couldn't be tested. We describe what we know, and they're soldas-is, with no returns.
  • Missed something? Every grade except As-Is is covered by our30-day money-back guarantee.
